This module is designed to provide the student with:
- A knowledge of engineering components and their applications
- An ability to analyse and resolve static and dynamic engineering systems
- A knowledge of mechanical materials
- A knowledge of basic thermo-fluids
- An ability to analyse and resolve engineering problems
- Lecturer: Paul Herbert
- Lecturer: Graham Whittaker
To provide an understanding of the concepts of current, voltage, power and energy in DC and AC electric circuits and their relationships to the component quantities of resistance, capacitance, and inductance. The module will also enable students to achieve a good understanding of the fundamental concepts of electric and magnetic fields, their interactions and applications.
This module will provide the students with a knowledge of the fundamental principles of engineering measurement techniques and process measurement systems & devices.
This module is designed to provide the student with:
- a knowledge of algebraic, trigonometric and complex methods
- a knowledge of the calculus and its methods
- an ability to apply mathematics when solving technical problems
- an ability to extend the study of engineering mathematics
